one of the biggest mistakes of my life

Sunday, April 14th, 2013

many many years ago when i was still listening to music on CDs i tried out iTunes.  i don’t remember why i tried it – maybe to rip CDs or something.  but anyway it offered weekly music downloads for free.  it was all pretty garbage (no offense).  i clicked to snag em all the time though since i didn’t own any other digital musics.  i guess it just felt good getting free stuff even though i didn’t like any of it.

fast forward to today and all that trash music keeps following me around all these years later!  my phone, my ipad, my laptop, even my tv are all haunted by this garbage thanks to iCloud. ugh!! haha i thought i had it figured out and removed a lot of this from my purchases on iPad only for it to pop back up on my tv and torment me anew.  killll meeeeeeee

ozzy + rob zombie concert

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

thursday night was the ozzy osbourne and rob zombie concert at key arena which turned out to be awesome! i was hoping for a crazy over the top performance to kick off halloween and wasn’t disappointed.

rob zombie’s performance was my favorite. the stage was incredibly cool with three giant monster heads, huge pictures of wolfman and frankenstein, tons of skulls and projection screens playing things like classic horror and clips from house of a 1000 corpses and devil’s rejects… so sweet! :) he played a ton of great songs and looked like he was really enjoying being back on stage.

before ozzy came on the projection screens played some bizarre videos of him spliced into tv shows doing silly things. this left little doubt that he’s completely lost it at this point. :) his performance was quite fun as he played a lot of his classics like crazy train and iron man and it was comical watching him hop around on stage with his belly bouncing about. ;) on the stage above him he had the craziest iron cross with “ozzy” written on it which would burst into flames and jet fire out and down the sides. it was sweet! at one point like halfway through the set everyone went off stage except ozzy’s guitarist who went into this crazy long solo that just went on and on and on and then finally morphed into the star spangled banner before ending. i found it terribly boring but the rest of the crowd seemed to enjoy it. the guitarist then collapsed on the next song but continued playing on the ground – it was nuts. towards the end ozzy was quite emotional and thanked the crowd several times saying things like “i love you all – god bless you” which i found quite funny coming from the “prince of darkness” with a burning cross behind him! :)

in the end it was a very entertaining halloween concert well worth the money. :)

year zero

Monday, May 7th, 2007

well i was crazy busy last month with work, my car breaking, my laptop breaking, and the blockparty demoparty, but don’t think i’d forget to post about the new nine inch nails album! it’s awesome!!! when i first listened i was a little disappointed having hoped for much higher BPM (yeah been listening to too much trance hehe), but it still sucked me in. after buying the CD, a Rhapsody copy, an iTunes copy, and a Zune copy i hope i’ve done my part to help make Reznor a billionaire. it’s the least i can do for him not taking half a decade to release this one. ;)

friday is the teacher

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

thanks kyle for telling me about ladytron coming to town!  looks like they’ll be playing the showbox october 13th.  tickets can be had here for 18$ cheap.  i hope they’re awesome live.

you ever listen to an album so much at some time that whenever you listen to it again later you remember so clearly all the stuff that happened in your life at that time?  i think that feeling is so cool that i do it on purpose.  this may be because my memory otherwise is so terrible, but hey whatever works.  :)   since i listened to witching hour like exclusively for a couple weeks when it was released i can use it at any time to teleport myself back to the year 2005.  fear!  ;)

sasquatch

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

i finally figured out how to get pictures off my phone so i can now post about sasquatch:)   it was awesome!  of course!  nine inch nailsthe gorge… come on.  it’s a long drive from seattle to george wa, so i took the day off work, slept in, then drove the 140ish miles.  the drive is beautiful.  i made it to the gorge in record time because 1) my car likes to go fast and 2) my foot gets realllly heavy when i become bored of the cds in my car.

i took only this photo and this photo with my phone before the battery died.  oops, why do i never charge that thing??

the bands were great.  wolfmother caught me by surprise.  i had never heard of them before they got on the stage then they totally rocked.  i mean the dude had a cape!  i also really enjoyed tv on the radio.  by the time reznor was up i was verrry tired but after march of the pigs my body had enough adrenaline to keep me up till 4 in the morning.  i didn’t camp this time so that 4 in the morning meant a very long dark drive home.  yeah i’ll recommend camping even when the second day bands are lame.

UNTIL NEXT YEAR!

just got my ticket for sasquatch!  ticketmaster is so crazy… they give you a time limit on each page where you have to fill in your info.  you have 1 minutes to fill in your address and credit card info and select your shipping and … yikes it’s almost been 1 minutes just reading those instructions!  i need more minutes!  it reminded me of the c&c red alert 2 installer which gave a countdown for entering the like 25 letter cd key – that was intense.  :)

disappear beneath the day

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

maybe it’s just the weather, but i’ve been listening to a lot of autolux.

see you on the other side

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

the new korn album is killer.  if you’re a fan of good music (who isn’t?) give it a listen.

free music streams

Monday, October 24th, 2005

philosomatika is a great stream to listen to while working.  trance music keeps you alert and productive.  :)

nectarine plays demo scene
music which is mostly good except for the occasional long strings of
chip tunes.  i advocate using moderation while listening to chip
tunes.

any others?

nin concert

Saturday, September 24th, 2005

nine inch nails concert at key arena was great. autolux opened and wasn’t bad. queens of the stoneage followed and they were completely lame. but then reznor was up and was phenomenal. hurt, burn, and right where it belongs all in one performance… so awesome. and unbelievably the song deep is actually really good live. who could have known?
